Built on the belief that business is personal
Kanect Co started with a simple idea: that the best business relationships aren't transactional — they're built on trust, transparency, and a genuine interest in each other's success.
We're an industrial trading partner for serious businesses across agriculture, manufacturing, recreation, and beyond. And we're more than that — we're a network, a community, and a company that believes commerce works best when the people behind it actually know each other.
Founded with purpose, built to last
The Kanect Group grew from the right people making the right decisions at the right time — a founding built on trust, a leadership built on expertise, and an ownership that believed in the long game.
The story begins with KR Equipment, a company founded by entrepreneur Khristopher Tursky with a clear vision for what the industrial equipment and recycling space could be. From the outset, Christopher recognized that the right leadership would be the difference between a good business and a great one. That recognition led him to Rebel Mead — someone whose hands-on industry knowledge, entrepreneurial instincts, and genuine commitment to people made him the natural choice to lead the operation. Christopher appointed Rebel as President, and the company began to take shape in earnest.
Under Rebel's leadership, what started as KR Equipment evolved into something considerably larger. He built a team culture grounded in hard work, accountability, and real relationships — not just with employees, but with every customer and partner the business touched. That approach laid the groundwork for Kanect Recycling, which grew into one of the region's most recognized operations, earning a reputation for transparency and reliability that most in the industry only aspire to.
As Khristopher turned his focus toward new ventures, Alexis Hare stepped in, acquiring his stake in the business and bringing both fresh energy and long-term commitment to its future. The transition marked a natural evolution — ownership and leadership aligned around a shared vision for what the Kanect Group could become, with Rebel continuing to drive the day-to-day and Alexis bringing her own perspective to the growth of the organization.
From that foundation, the group expanded deliberately and purposefully. Kanect Auctions brought transparency to the equipment marketplace. Kanect Entertainment Group created the gathering places — motorsport, equestrian, food and drink — where community actually happens. And Kanect Co emerged as the commercial hub: the front door for business partners looking to access the full breadth of what the group has built.
Running alongside all of it is the Kanect Foundation — the clearest expression of what the group's founders have always believed: that business success creates an obligation to give back. Kids programs, animal welfare, community partnerships. As Rebel puts it: "We've been fortunate to grow because of the people and communities around us — giving back isn't optional, it's part of who we are."
Rebel Mead
President
When Khristopher Tursky founded KR Equipment, one of his earliest and most consequential decisions was recognizing that the right leader would define the company's future. He found that in Rebel Mead — and appointed him President. It proved to be the right call.
Rebel brought to the role something that can't be taught: deep, ground-level knowledge of the industry, a hands-on work ethic, and an instinct for building teams that last. Under his leadership, the business didn't just grow — it earned a reputation. In an industry where trust is hard won, Kanect Recycling became known as the operation that does things right, every time.
His approach has always been personal. Strong customer relationships, a culture of accountability, and a belief that the success of a business is only meaningful if it creates real opportunities for the people inside it and genuine value for the people it serves. That philosophy didn't stay within the walls of Kanect Recycling — it became the DNA of the entire Kanect Group.
Beyond the business, Rebel is a committed family man and a genuine advocate for the communities the company operates in. The Kanect Foundation exists, in large part, because of his conviction that giving back isn't a PR initiative — it's a responsibility. Community investment, charitable programs, and local partnerships are simply part of how he believes a business should operate.
"We've been fortunate to grow because of the people and communities around us — giving back isn't optional, it's part of who we are."
